Frequently Asked Questions

Booking & Appointments

Do I need an appointment?

All in-clinic tests and home visit blood draws require a booked time slot. Home test kits do not require an appointment, but every booking is reviewed by a Levitas GP before testing proceeds.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes — for eligible tests, you can book a home visit and a certified phlebotomist will come to your home to collect a venous blood sample.

How do I know if a test requires fasting?

Tests that require fasting will state so — typically 8–10 hours before your appointment.

Can I choose which clinic location to attend?

Yes — you can select any available location during booking.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes — you can contact the Levitas clinic to reschedule your appointment time before your GP call.

What if I'm not sure which test I need?

You can still proceed with booking. A Levitas GP will review your request and a complimentary call may be arranged to confirm you have selected the appropriate test. You may also book an expert consultation if you would prefer guidance beforehand.

During Your Test

What happens during an in-clinic blood test?

A trained phlebotomist takes a venous blood sample. The process usually takes 10–20 minutes with no downtime afterward.

What happens during a home visit?

A trained phlebotomist arrives at your home with all the equipment needed to perform a venous blood draw. The process is identical to an in-clinic test.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel only a quick pinch or mild pressure.

Do I need to prepare anything at home for a home visit?

Just a clean seating area and good lighting. We bring everything else.

Can I take my regular medication before a test?

For most medications, yes. But if you're unsure, contact our team for guidance or discuss it during your GP consult.

Home Test Kits

How do home test kits work?

For eligible tests, home kits can be ordered after booking. Once reviewed and approved by a Levitas GP, a kit is dispatched to your address. Samples may include finger-prick blood tests or stool kits, depending on the test.

How do I return my kit?

Use the prepaid packaging included with your kit to return your sample.

What if I make a mistake with my sample?

If there is an issue with your sample and it cannot be processed, our team will contact you to discuss next steps and provide guidance.

Are home kits as accurate as clinic tests?

Yes — when collected correctly, home kits are processed using the same accredited laboratories.

Results & Reports

How long do results take?

Most blood tests: 24–48 hours; advanced tests: 3–5 days; gut/stool tests: 7–10 days.

How do I receive my results?

You will receive a secure digital report via email.

Do all results include a doctor's comments?

Yes — every Levitas result includes personalised clinical interpretation from a Levitas doctor.

What if something is abnormal?

If a result is abnormal, the clinician's comments will explain what it may indicate and guide you on recommended next steps. You may also book an additional consultation for detailed support.

Follow-Up & Support

Can I speak to a clinician after I get my results?

Yes — you can book a full follow-up consultation to review your results in detail.

Can someone help me choose the right test?

Yes — every booking includes a GP review, and you can also book an expert consultation if you would like guidance before selecting a test.

Are tests suitable for children?

Some tests are suitable for children depending on the test type. Please contact our team for advice before booking.

Can I share results with my GP or specialist?

Yes — your digital report can be downloaded and shared with any healthcare provider.

Payments & Pricing

How do I pay for my test?

All tests are paid for securely online at checkout.

Are home visits priced differently?

Yes — a home visit fee will be added depending on your postcode.

Are refunds available?

If a test hasn't been completed, a refund may be possible. Please see our Cancellations & Refund Policy for full details.
